WHO SHOULD ATTEND

 
Physicians planning to sit for the new ARDMS Registered Physician Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) Certification Exam.
  • Physicians, including but not limited to: vascular surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, neurologists, phlebologists, who want to specialize in vascular ultrasound
  • Physicians wishing to review and improve their vascular interpretation skills
  • Physicians requiring AMA Category I Continuing Medical Education credits
  • Vascular technologists requiring CME credits or who seek an advanced vascular seminar

COURSE OBJECTIVES

 
Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:
  • demonstrate improved interpretation skills for multiple noninvasive tests: abdominal, arterial, venous, and cerebrovascular
  • display a better understanding of ultrasound physics concepts and their application to the field of vascular diagnostics
  • successfully challenge the ARDMS Registered Physician Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) Certification Exam

Dr. Sid Edelman is considered the premier physics instructor for all Ultrasound board review classes. Just ask your colleagues! Dr. Edelman has extensive clinical involvement at the Texas Heart Institute of St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. Additionally, he has over twenty-five years experience preparing ultrasound professionals for their board exams. For years, Dr. Edelman is responsible for the physics content of the ASE exam review and Society of Interventional Radiology RVT/RPVI review programs. He is the author of the best selling “Understanding Ultrasound Physics” textbook. Under his leadership, ESP’s programs have been designed to be direct, efficient and down-to-earth. Our attendees earn passing scores quickly, while integrating exam preparation in their active professional and personal lives.

Gregory Moneta, M.D.
Professor of Surgery, Head, Division of Vascular Surgery
Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, Oregon

Gregory Moneta, M.D. is a Professor and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University. He has served as a visiting professor and lecturer around the world. Dr. Moneta is editor for the Mosby Yearbook of Vascular Surgery, assistant editor for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, and is a member of 15 other editorial boards. His bibliography includes over 300 chapters and articles and 286 invited presentations. Dr. Moneta’s current clinical investigations include outcomes research in critical limb ischemia, chronic venous disease, the noninvasive vascular laboratory, mesenteric vascular disease, carotid disease and gene therapy for vascular disease.

Micky McPharlin, RN, RVT, FSVU
Detroit, Michigan

Micky McPharlin is a distinguished educator in Vascular Technology. She is the former Technical Director of the Clinical Vascular Laboratory at Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) in Detroit. Her responsibilities in the Vascular Surgery Fellowship program included didactic instruction, extensive review of clinical cases to clarify noninvasive vascular studies, identify technical limitations, and reinforce interpretative guidelines. Over her career, she has complied volumes of clinical cases for these educational purposes. She has been involved with Registry Review Courses for 18 years. Her clinical experience and devotion to vascular education exquisitely qualifies Micky to prepare RPVI candidates.
