CARDIOVASCULAR CREDENTIALING
INTERNATIONAL offers the Registered Cardiac
Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) credentials.
REGISTERED CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER
(RCS)
Who should apply? Professionals working in
the area of Non-Invasive Echocardiography.
Requires: Passing (or receiving exemption from) the Cardiovascular
Science Examination and passing Non-Invasive Echo Registry Examination.
REGISTERED VASCULAR SONOGRAPHER
(RVS)
Who should apply? Professionals working in
the area of Vascular Technology (Vascular Ultrasound).
Requires: Passing (or receiving exemption from) the Cardiovascular
Science Examination and passing Non-Invasive Vascular Registry Examination.
Do I have to take these two exams in a particular order?
No, you may take the CV Science or clinical Registry exam in any order. However, it is required that both the
Cardiovascular Science Examination (or exemption) and the Registry exam of your
choice be completed in a three (3) year period.
How can I tell if I qualify for the exemption for the
Cardiovascular Science Examination?
There are three (3) pathways to gain exemption from the Cardiovascular Science
examination:
1) Hold an "active" CCI Registry Level credential: RCIS, RCS, RVS; or
2) Have earned at least one of the following credentials: BTEC, DO, PA, RDCS,
RN, RRT MD, RT(R) or RVT, and they must be current for the year in which you
apply or expire at a later date. Registrant must also complete and submit the
Cardiovascular Science Exemption Application found on page 20 of the CCI
Application and Examination Booklet; or
3) Have graduated from a CAA-HEP-accredited Cardiovascular Technology or
Diagnostic Medical Sonography (cardiac or vascular programs only) educational
program.
How DOES ESP Ultrasound prepare me for the CCI
Cardiovascular Science Exam?
ESP Ultrasound no longer offers CCI Cardiovascular Science seminars.
However, ESP offers practice
questions for the exam on our innovative website, the
X-zone. Lastly, you
may purchase the
course outline
from our 2009 Cardiovascular Science seminars.

CCI Non-Invasive Vascular Registry Examination?
ESP offers ten Physics & Specialty
Weekend Seminars in 2010 that are ideal preparation
for CCI's Vascular exam. Since the Non-invasive Vascular exam contains questions on
both Physics and Vascular Ultrasonography, you should register for both the
morning Physics class and the afternoon Vascular Technology class.

Examination?

preparation for CCI's Echo exam. Since the Non-invasive Echo exam contains questions on

Physics class and the afternoon Adult Echocardiography class.
